That's mostly for the fact that the zones closed though and to keep you from seeing the unfinished sections. Once its added that won't be the case.

What hurts FF14 for me is how the zones are all just closed off areas with a lot of 'pathways' and invisible walls. I liked the original Kalimdor since it matched Warcraft 3's map a bit more. Now on the other hand I get why they changed it though due to zone sizes.
