It cuts a ton from the manga to fit all the way up to the Aogiri Tree arc into 12 episodes. It's alright and you'd probably enjoy it if you go into it with that in mind.

The animation took a bit to get used to but overall the anime was pretty great and faithful to the manga. Now we just need to wait for season 2 this Winter or next Spring (I'd guess Spring since rarely do big name anime air in Winter). I don't believe it's this Fall since the preview episodes aren't till November.

Well Tokyo Ghoul was the only one I was initially interested in but Aldnoah actually had a pretty decent first episode and it looks like it may be split into 2 12 episode seasons so it won't get madly rushed. I'm still not sure about SAO 2 but at least it was given 24 episodes so it'll air more than just the Gun Gale…

It'd be this Winter at the earliest since they aren't even doing the early preview till November and most likely it'll be next Spring since rarely are big anime aired in the Winter season.
