I think religion has been ruining the 'essence of humanity' for the past several thousand years.

You can easily see the Milky Way with the naked eye which is what the gas clouds are in those pictures. I can remember going out to a camp back during Middle School and being amazed at the sky and seeing it.

You'd be surprised how well people can report animal abuse even if it's on the internet.

Of course that's if said race ever felt the need to do what we did.

I'd think that if a alien race out there has the means for interstellar travel that they'd also have the means to not be seen by our technology which would be incredibly primitive compared to theirs.

Really? I almost want to put that Homer facepalm image here.

And in a week everyone will be all over this just like every other time.

If the human race manages to ever get to the point of being able to colonize other worlds before we kill ourselves I'd imagine we'll see that begin to happen.

Now we just need more people doing that around the world.

And then they'll act surprised when a crack is out on day 1.

Yea it's just kinda the world we live in now where the media really loves pushing tragedies into every newscast for their ratings and going on about how it 'effects everyone' (though let's be honest, it doesn't effect anyone other than those in said community).

If by 'effects everyone' you mean 'only effects those in that community'. Now sure the media loves making it 'effect everyone' since they love the ratings.

I didn't even know about it till I saw this little post let alone have it on my mind. It's a horrible thing to have happened but it doesn't need pasted everywhere.

I think it's more a matter of how feasible it is to get Hydro, Wind, and Solar energy to fully support our current population. I mean if we had a population at about a quarter of what we are now all 3 of those resources would be much more efficient along with a overabundance of resources like water with little concern

It's only been in Beta for like a year and a half now and gives out Beta keys left and right.

My issue more comes with those that we take with us while doing so. Of course we could technically bring this planet to a tipping point where it would not be able to actually recover.

A Hippo is more likely to actually TRY to kill you then say a whale which would be more accidental. Hippo's are a VERY dangerous animal and are actually considered the most dangerous animal in Africa and kill more people a year than lions and any other predatory animal.

Well to be fair life started out in those harsh conditions on ancient Earth.

Well yea I understand we mate less as each country becomes a industrialized nation and it places like the US we only really see the poor or other niche groups reproduce quite a bit. My concern is usually just in general when I see how many humans there are on this planet.

Well it's like I said to another reply. I am not really looking at humans when I am talking about overpopulation and am looking at the animals we continue pushing into extinction or critical population levels as we take more and more space and/or destroy their environments. If we were to bring about our own demise by
