In five hundred years, when historians are sifting through the history of the medium, are they going to be looking at the Last of Us and all the subsequent photorealistic games and say “Oh, yes, that’s the look that defined videogames, the stuff that looks like movies.” No! Videogames will be defined by pixel art

This really doesn’t surprise me. I’m not saying nobody young can enjoy pixel aesthetics but I feel like most of the appeal of pixel graphics is nostalgia. There are a handful of modern games that use pixel art that I think are genuinely lovely (like Iconoclasts and Sea of Stars) but I think most pixel games don’t

The game was definitely hit and miss with its depiction of slavery. It definitely managed to depict some of the horrors of slavery, with the section where Clive is approaching the Empire’s capital pre-second timeskip as a particularly memorable area with side quests that were real gut punches.

The running assumption is that Filoni is trying really hard to do the same thing for the sequels with these series and the forthcoming movie what Clone Wars did for Anakin in the prequels - make the backstory much less stunted and stupid. In this case it’s setting up how broken the new republic was and a viable

This series has been what I needed since Andor.  Kenobi was ok-ish, but I want the post-Empire story now and Ahsoka delivers it.  Even better - this series is mostly women-led; they are all strong, none are in need of a romantic interest, and they are all capable ladies.  I’m loving this!

The criticism of needing to have watched CW/Rebels is an odd one - not necessarily incorrect, but Star Wars is also founded on the idea of jumping into a serial several chapters in and trying to figure out what’s what on the fly. Heck there’s a strangely off-brand crawl at the top of the first episode which in theory

Oh and if it helps they’re almost certainly covering Marrok’s face and not letting him talk because they want us to guess that’s he’s mind-wiped Ezra Bridger.

Nah, Clone Wars and Rebels is required viewing for this series, and more than that, the viewer is expected to remember every last character name and plot detail of kids-oriented shows.

Even if, as Huyang says, Sabine has less Jedi ability than any padawan he’s ever seen in history. (Which, quick aside, is a pretty messed up thing for him to say even if it gives Sabine that much more room to grow.)

People say the Left eats itself when we call out literally anything because the Right doesn’t understand the concept of holding yourselves to your own standards. Sometimes people freak out over a character’s skin being drawn a percent lighter than canon, but you hear “the Left eats itself” every time there’s any kind

No, it looks bad that a bunch of greedy companies worth billions (or in a couple of cases trillions) of dollars have kept the industry on strike for close to four months now.

“Good to see you, Zachary Levi and Stephen Amell!”

To be honest, I prefer “Across” and “Beyond” rather than Pt. 1 and Pt. 2.  Imagine if there was an “Empire Strikes Back Part 1".

The color palettes in Gwen’s universe reflect her emotions.

Me, but I might be the only one.

More likely the Jedi in question is Ezra? The whole driving thrust of the show is meant to be the group going into the outer rim trying to find him

I hate Mayim, and I clicked reply to say that I don’t necessarily think that the picture implies that she’s crossing the line but upon reflection I agree that it’s a poor inclusion given that she specifically has refused to cross the line when last I checked Jennings HAD agreed to cross the picket line (not sure if

Ever try searching for an Office 365 problem? Good lord. I mean most of it is Microsoft’s fault for constantly changing things and leaving up outdated articles, but still.

This is great for Sam and the Dropout team, you love to see it folks.

Looks like a “Gritty and Realistic Take” on Zorak from Space Ghost: Coast to Coast.
