Mistakes happen. I don’t understand why restaurants compound them by saying it will be a minute when it’s going to end up being 20 or 30 minutes. Admit the mistake and ask the customer if they would prefer to get it later or if you get them a substitute you can serve faster, or maybe offer a free dessert.

When people try to make arguements that actions like taunting, not shooting, or jumping are signaling, they are doing so in bad faith. It's clear when those actions are amd are not signaling.

I can’t fault them for looking their age... but I can fault them for still trying to look like rebel steam punk pirates instead of something more age appropriate. You can still be stylish in your 70s, but have a little more dignity. Everyone knows they’re not young anymore.
