When he took her ashes out and started, I don’t know petting(?) them?! Gah! He totally had something to do with her murder.

I love that little tribute! This reboot is waaayyy better than I was expecting. The French episode gave me nightmares.
This comment is not getting nearly enough love.
Just read that article on your recommendation. Heartbreaking is right. That was a tough read, especially at the end.
That’s silly. You can’t ruin the look of a Tesla. They’re ugly cars to begin with. ;)
My husband and I just watched the trailer, and could barely contain our excitement. I wonder who is hosting it? It’s going to be hard to compete with Robert Stack.
That boyfriend sounds like a keeper to me!
Are you me? Our Vista Cruiser was yellow with fake wood. One time my little brother sat on the sill as my mom was going 50+ mph down the highway. My eldest brother saw and yanked him in. The 70s were a fun time to grow up!
Ha! We called it the “way back” too. My siblings and I used to sit in the back with the window wide open. Also loved the open back of my brother’s Ranchero (the Ford version of an El Camino.)
Connecticut isn’t even a hotspot anymore.
I noticed the quality on the newer items has generally gone downhill, too.
My husband is friends with a guy who is a part-time driver for Judge Judy, who is good friends with Cindy Adams. One night he was driving them around and Judy said from the back seat, “Johnny, cover your ears, Cindy and I are talking about our thongs.”
Crap - you’re right! Thanks for the correction.
I remember that Jeffersons episode. I don’t remember that particular Gimme a Break, but I do remember the episode where Rerun gets caught taping a Doobie Brothers (!) concert. It taught me the term “bootleg.” I miss 70s tv like that.
Same here. I was a huge Go-Go’s fan growing up (saw them in 1985.) Belinda was my idol as a teenager. Though I knew there was a bit of tension between the band members and things weren’t as sunny with them as presented (Charlotte’s heroin problem, etc.), Belinda’s book really depressed me. She also has a lot to answer…
Same with my company. They have Asian offices and were taking this seriously back in January. My boss said on a call the other day that he does not expect certain departments to be back in the office until fall.
Nice name and comment thread synergy.
This whole post is pure poetry, but this line deserves special mention: “..those women had a sense of fun and adventure that was evidenced both in their wardrobe choices and their decision to appear on a reality show competing for the leathery hand of Bret Michaels.” That is some stellar writing.
I don’t know why, but “go buy butter” is particularly hilarious. I love this story - thank you for the laugh!
You are essential. And I am sorry you have to deal with this.
