I watched the video and it just seems unnecessarily cruel.

I have precisely zero tattoos, but, if I were to get one, I’d prefer that the artist told me if s/he thought it would look shit. I think it shows they care about their work and aren’t just willing to do any old thing, provided they were getting paid.
