Think how dumb you’d need to be for this guy to sound smart; that’s the terrifying thing.

She’s young, and was probably drunk. Imagine if there had been a microphone and a camera going on when you were 19 and drunk. IMAGINE.

I did not wake up this morning thinking I would like Ariana Grande, yet here we are.

I think it’s pretty clear that I don’t *actually* believe the world hates me. But I’m really fucking frustrated with the state of the world right now, and yeah, there are definitely moments when I feel overwhelmed and hopeless. This dude is absolutely allowed to express his ideas. I’m also allowed to think it’s a

Everyone doesn’t actually get flex time and in my experience you can’t just hold on to it for a year. Flex time is not a solution.

I think it’s odd that any politician would argue abolishing a health organization, when they have no alternatives in place. There’s just no intelligence to it. You can’t just eliminate a program without considering the impact you’ll have on the system.

We have no money for healthcare. There is a gigant wall to be built!

So...I’m terrified of losing Obamacare and PP. Like, I’ll have no health resources. No basic wellness exams and no affordable psychiatric meds. Shit is gonna get real scary real fast for the majority of us. And they just...don’t care. Right? They legitimately don’t give a shit.

I think they could have hinted at the tone a bit more. I noticed those things, but I thought the film was playing them fairly straight and that things would likely end in hugs rather than tears. It’s not like Hollywood doesn’t make blatant racial missteps while playing things totally straight (*cough*Aloha*cough*) or

Even if the actual story was explained in the trailers (I would argue it was alluded to, considering how obvious it was in the trailers that Sandra Bullock ‘ s character was super culturally insensitive and blatantly pulling your stereotypical shallow and heartless political tactics), I think that we’re giving too

If the movie is as you describe the events, part of the reason it failed was that it was advertised inaccurately. The commercials suggested none of that, and mostly showed Sandra Bullock demonstrating that she has moxie.

I don’t think the “white savior” label is accurate when describing this movie/the true story that inspired the movie. If you read up on the true events or even watch the documentary (which I highly recommend), you’ll see that, in a way, these events work to turn the “white savior trope” on its head, and send out a

I can’t think of anything scarier, currently.

Why on earth would a film company release a non-horror film on Halloween weekend??

Rational person: this movie failed because it was a shitty white savior narrative.

Sounds like someone knew it was a dud from the start, and didn’t want to risk the publicity.

I don’t live under a rock and I never heard a damn thing about this movie. Maybe the promotion was a bomb, too.

Um, if he was kissing her “forcibly” then why “get a room” rather than “Hey, Maverick, Katie doesn’t look so comfortable getting goosed”?

Nah. Katie was as much a prisoner as anyone else, wasn’t she?. Although she went into her marriage contract sorta knowing what she was getting into, who can really say that she understood the full Scientology fuckery until she was deep into it? I think it’s why she got out at the first opportunity she could. It’s why

Holy fuck that movie was scary
