That’s Numberwang!

I’m a high school teacher at a conservative boarding school in Virginia. Here is the letter I wrote to my (mostly Trump-supporting) students.

Collins has looked slow and out of place on a number of plays this year—not nearly as explosive as he was last year. But this still seems ill-advised.

What about chicken that has been breaded using an egg wash as part of the process? If you’ve ever eaten fried chicken, in all likelihood you’ve enjoyed this very same combination.

Right: why Roma was unseeded for the draw makes no sense to me. Fine, if the third-place Italian team has to qualify, but wouldn’t a group stage with BOTH Porto and Roma be more fun? Who doesn’t want to see Totti lace them up at the Bernabeu one last time?

My two-year-old loves it, and I like it too—maybe that’s why: he acts like a two-year-old, and it’s good for my son to see that it’s okay to feel like he does sometimes. Maybe I’ll get the hate more when my kid is four?

My kid loves him some Caillou, and I have to say, I’ve never understood the hate. I actually LIKE that he’s not always happy—so many kids’ shows are just loud and colorful and peppy, and Caillou lets kids know that it’s ok to be scared, to be sad, to wish things were different. Validating those feelings matters, I
