Judging from the Bolt fires and Tesla build quality, it will matter if the other manufacturers can’t get their shit together.

Wouldn’t a stainless bus just make it really heavy?

I’m neutral with Teslas, and this is a prototype not production model, so all those are fine.  I just have one bone to pick.  That camera on the fender edge?  Holy shit it’ll get destroyed so quick.  What a bad place to put a delicate piece of equipment.

The ZF8 is a RWD tranny.

We put our son in the M3, it fits surprisingly well even with a rear facing seat.

I disagree. Brake torque vectoring is BS and it cooks your brakes if you drive hard for a longer session. Unless they have a true torque vectoring diff like in Acura’s SH-AWD or Audi’s diffs, a torsen is still going to be better. You can call BMW electronically actuated diff not a mechanical LSD, but ultimately imo

The roots are similar being derived from a rally car, but the setup is completely different.  I am curious what they have for a center diff, 50/50 normally and 30/70 f-r is not what a typical FWD based setup can achieve easily.

I want to buy one if I had $45k cad burning a hole in my pocket. Alas I don’t, nor do I have space for one. If this came out a few years ago it would have checked enough boxes for me to actually buy one.

The GR4 actually occupies a niche space that no one else is in.

I feel the same about the exterior too.

Sure, an equivalent Rav4 hybrid would work as well, but the monthly payments are only a little bit off but the X3 is a lot more comfortable and competent and packs way more tech. The X3 was $1050/m vs $950/m for the Rav4 both 0 down, in Canadian pesos.

Try one with a kid and come back and tell me the same.

So it looks carb-y?

The Subaru’s are well known to be fucking annoying with their chimes.  This doesn’t bode well.

Unfortunately the Mk8 is designed by an idiot.

$224 million is actually chump change for a fully fledged automaker with factories and production lines and supply contracts, and probably some sort of dealer network however small. Though I don’t know if they actually own any powertrain designs or have to resort to licensing or borrowing setups.

The problem with the last two Bose systems I had was they used a different impedence so finding speakers that worked with it was almost impossible.

Bose car systems typically all suck. A lot of them are just paper elements and nothing real fancy.

How is the N? I had a regular Elantra as a rental and it was pretty good. Only thing I didn’t like was the weird vent thing on the left of the instruments binnacle.
