Yes a white person would have been arrested. It was a citizen’s arrest. Regardless of whether the police wanted to take Killer Mike into custody they are required by law to do it. (Taking him into custody does not mean to jail him.)

Out of the bands and people on the list of contributors to the record whose music I know, I’d probably most like to see what Kevin Abstract comes up with. Brockhampton records were always a bit weird and off-kilter and that could serve some of the songs well.
Good list. Thanks for including the Saints and Mink DeVille. I disagree with the inclusion of the 101ers, since any career they had was almost entirely posthumous.
And “I don’t feel tardy.”
Sun’s coming up ... what a great record.
Nice response, thank you. I believe it’s objectively true that being passionate about music is a good thing. The merits of the music a particular person is passionate about are purely subjective though. Except “We Built This City” by Starship. That’s objectively horrible.
Yes, except to the extent there’s a distinction between “schlocky” and “pretentious” I,m probably leaning toward pretentious. Sting was awesome in the “Quadrophenia” movie and I liked him in the Police; they seemed to be having a good time and didn’t mind being silly. “Masoko Tanga” is an example. Even as late as…
Sting is your counterpoint to Billy Joel being calculated and schlocky?
“Here Come the Warm Jets” is another example. It’s a great release but I’m not sure if it’s better than “Taking Tiger Mountain” for that kind of accessible pop/rock Eno.
It’s probably blasphemous but Robert Palmer’s cover of “Sailin’ Shoes” in that first trio of songs is better than the Little Feat original.
No “Petition the Lord With Prayer?”
“The Hospice Bachelor.” Nice.
Phil wrote it and sang it live in the later years, but that’s Shane singing lead on the album version.
I think I saw them at the Anaheim House of Blues that tour. They opened with “Streams of Whiskey” and the band were on fire.
I have cursed, bled and sworn
“Fairytale of Philadelphia.” It just ain’t right. Get your own song ya bastids.
Look, it’s Jimmy Carl Black, the Indian of the group!
It confused me too. From what I can tell by reading a couple of the articles about it, his production company was found liable. It looks like the court allowed an agency jury instruction opening the door for the jury to find De Niro’s girlfriend was an agent of the corporation. It seems like there was a lot of…
The AV Club has always been at war with Justin Timberlake.
Yeah, I know. I’m a Prince fan as well but the Lance Diamond cover rocks harder than Prince’s. Also, for some reason Lance sounds insanely pleased about never being able to take the place of her man which always cracks me up.
