Lacy Clay was the kind of congressperson that other congresspeople liked, because he could raise a ton of money and didn’t have to actually spend it on his own campaign, so he could dole it out to others. But you could tell he was in trouble this time because he was actually running TV ads during a primary election.

You could tell that Clay knew he was in trouble, because he started running ads about two weeks before the election. This is a titanic result in staid St. Louis area politics.

I live in an area where this was test-marketed, so I tried it about a month ago. In comparison to other no-alcohol beers, it was not bad. A family member who is normally a Busch N/A drinker said that Bud Zero was much better. So, it’s got that going for it.

I think part of it is that we are also really good at reading our own dog’s cues. I can tell when my dog is anxious, where to someone else it might look like she’s simply excited. And dogs are very definitely jealous, particularly of attention from their humans. 

They make a nice mixer in place of club soda or tonic. One of my favorites, that I was enjoying this weekend, was vodka with raspberry seltzer and a couple of lemon wedges. Very refreshing.
