If I came across a racy cartoon when I was a kid I would probably get a tiny thrill out of it, but wouldn’t consider it a big deal. But I find that my perspective on this stuff has changed now that I’m a dad with young girls (surprise surprise). I don’t really want them exposed to grotesque shit until they are old

It’s an interesting take you have, and I do think it’s important to look at the context and the era in which a piece of art is produced. But even still, it’s okay for us to take a step back and declare something is morally wrong (or just uncomfortably repugnant) by today’s standard, because it is today’s world we are

That is... eugch. I can only imagine what that toothpaste must have tasted like.

I still use the word “felgercarb” in my everyday use. Only about one person in a thousand gets it, but curse words are all driven by context and tone anyway so the exact words themselves don’t particularly matter.

Seeing as Lex has apparently murdered people in this movie, perhaps we should draw a distinction between actively-malevolent (fake Zuckerberg) and passively-malevolent (actual Zuckerberg). It’s a fine distinction, I’ll grant you, but it’s there.

Lex Luthor as evil-Zuckerberg is an... interesting... take on the character. I don’t think it is a very good choice, but as always I prefer to reserve judgment until I’ve actually seen it on-screen.

I really want to star this in recognition of the truth you speak... but I’m a little too busy being abysmally depressed about the truth you speak.

This is a fascinating idea, and now it’s going to bug me until I can directly match up each episode’s tone and themes with a specific regeneration. Do you have any observations you’ve made so far that you’d care to share to get me started?

City of Illusions was surprisingly good, right? I mean, I have always been a fan of LeGuin and I expected to enjoy the book going into it, but it was actually much better even than I was anticipating. The first part of the book with just Falk set it up as interesting but rather slow-paced. But then when Falk’s other

Have you ever read Epicurus? I think you would dig it.

Earth’s Mightiest Heroes is a strong second, but my favorite version of the Hulk is definitely from the Super Hero Squad. (couldn’t find the video for this, but in one episode Hulk refers to Thanos as the purple guy who talks like Charlton Heston on cold medication)

Both of these videos are a few years old, but I have a feeling you’re going to appreciate them:

Absolutely love this song, but I prefer the “choreography version” for the video. Without all the frenetic split-second jump cuts you can actually see the girls do their thing, and appreciate their dancing skills. Korean pop just puts American pop to shame, no question about it.

Holy shit, Rain is so badass. The “La Song” is now stuck in my head, where it will stay for... pretty much the rest of my life. It is that catchy.

2NE1 and Bigbang will always be my favorites, but I’ve been getting way into Block B lately.

Not only did I see it in a theater, I saw it at an awesome place (which doesn’t exist anymore, unfortunately) called Cinema Grill. It was one of those places that have tables in the theater, and waiters who will come and take your order during the previews. My friends and I all ate cheeseburgers and fries, then

I would argue that example doesn’t really count, since Tara Strong never appeared onscreen and only received voice credit.

In a perfect world, maybe. But since Warren has made it clear repeatedly that she won’t run for Pres because she thinks she can do more good in the Senate, I highly doubt that she would go for Vice Pres either.

That’s an excellent point, that the VP should be someone who will have a strong chance to take over in 8 years. As much as I love Bernie, his age is a very real consideration. I guess we’ll know Hill’s choice soon enough. The final primary is, what? May? June?

So... a Bernie Sanders-type, who isn’t actually Bernie Sanders? :)
