Ugh, I lost my front tooth to a lawn dart when I was 10 years old. My little brother hit me in the face, and snapped my tooth clean off. Lots of blood, incredible pain, yadda yadda yadda. It was on the 4th of July too, and we couldn't find a dentist's office that was open until the next day. Dentist did a great job of

Why did Clara lie, especially as it seems so out of character for her? The answer was highlighted mere moments before, when Perkins said that traveling with the Doctor in that life of danger could change a person. We are now seeing the way in which it is changing Clara, with that whole 'addiction' metaphor being

"You meddlesome hussy! Do not touch the sacrifices!"

Not exactly the same thing, since we ended up having the baby instead of aborting (this time), but before we knew the sex of the baby we couldn't give it a proper name but still had to refer to it in some way. It began as "Ziggy" the zygote, and eventually graduated to "Cletus" the fetus.

I've never actually played Mass Effect, and know almost nothing about the game series (except all the bitching my buddies did about the ending to ME3). I wanted to pick up the trilogy and run through it, but I was curious about one thing. Is there a difference in gameplay between the PC version and the Playstation

The last time I did an oh-god-not-again-why-are-you-reading-like-5000-pages-in-a-row binge to prepare myself for Dance with Dragons, I came up with a policy to help move things along that seemed to work well: do a shot at the beginning of each Tyrion chapter. Highly recommended!

I've seen the movie, several times, and enjoyed it immensely. It does indeed differ from the book greatly, but I'm OK with that. Instead of thinking of it as "butchery" I prefer to consider it a "creative re-interpretation". The actor they cast for the lead role actually nailed the character pretty well, and though

I started the series when the only book out was Nochnoi Dozor (Night Watch), and just absolutely adored it. When each new novel was released, I took it as an opportunity to go back and read all the previous books in succession, so that I would be in the right place to experience the new one. When I read Posledniy

This term has now been added to my permanent lexicon when making reference to sexytimes.

Potential vs. actual. What makes a tree more valuable than a seed? One is an actual, living thing, and the other has the potential to maybe (but maybe not) become an independent living thing itself someday. Until that happens though, the actual living thing (and its right to free will, were it to possess such a

Thank you for being of the few voices of reasons on this story. There are so many people who are assuming that Dad simply must be an asshole, and I just don't get it. If anything, I think it reflects more on the person making those assumptions that everyone else must be a selfish status-obsessed douchebag without any

Bear in mind that she was probably the only sober person in the entire house (besides Party Animal Bill, of course, and we all saw what a barrel of monkeys he was). Nothing is more annoying than being the only straight-edge around a bunch of overly-affectionate sloppy drunks. Plus, pregnancy hormones.

Well, to be fair, it would be tough to find a worse script/project (which I say as a somewhat reluctant "fan" of True Blood).

Me too! I can't remember them very well, but I do recall that we had some sort of Space Invaders-like game. I learned that if I messed with the pause button on the tape drive ever so slightly, it would create "static" in the program that would show up as extra blocks of junk on the screen, which sort of served as

I was a huge fan of this series when I was younger, but my enthusiasm lost steam right around Memnoch. Is it worth it for me to come back to it? By which I mean, are the last few books anywhere near as good as the first few?

When first introduced to the series, I read Game, Clash, and Storm all together. When Feast came out a few years later, I decided to start over from the beginning and read them all straight through so it would be fresh in my mind for the new book. And then when it took so damn long for Dance to finally be published, I

Nochnoy dozor, or Night Watch. If you've seen the movie, you've only seen about a third of the first book, and there is so much more to it. Anton's character develops over the course of the series in such a fantastic way, it is very hard to finish one book and not immediately grab the next in the series.

Completely agree with you on how unnecessary and obnoxious it is to use unpronounceable names. So I found it especially amusing when I saw that trope turned on its head once.

I'd recommend allotting yourself at least a day or two to take it all in. It has to be seen to be believed!
