absolutely. don´t listen to Nerd-O-Mania here and get into it. It is different. Not the best not the worst Star Trek Show. But they have a bunch of cool ideas, some great characters and some mean action. It really doesn´t matter that they updated the design and there is at least one turbo-nerd out there who bitches…

For what it’s worth, as first seasons go I think Discovery has been much better than TNG or even DS9 (I kinda lost interest in Voyager and like you never got into Enterprise).

Seasons III and IV of Enterprise are a lot better. It is worth watching the whole thing through, even if some of the episodes are a little slow.

I’m not one for binge watching. But DISCO isn’t bad. It’s serial storytelling, something that ST doesn’t really do, other than some seasons of DS9. The story gets a bit messy, but it’s not horrible. And the SFx are blockbuster movie like. If you ignore some of these “continuity issues”, you’ll be fine.

It’s different tonally from the previous shows, but it’s very much intended for fans. They drop good, well researched references every episode (not too obnoxiously, they generally make sense).

Worth picking up and binge watching the first season? I was big into TNG, DS9 and Voyager and probably watched most of the original just in passing. I’ve only seen a few episodes of Enterprise but could never get into it.

I got such a kick out of the Enterprise showing up at the end (and it looked fantastic), so of course the AVC review hates it.

Or how about discussing the reason why the uprising took place in the first. The fact that people were upset that 4 officers got 6 months of fed time-on video- for beating a man - on video - within an inch of his life - on video.

What really pisses me off about the media’s reporting on the trucker attack during the LA riots: he was saved by black people. People living near the intersection saw it on live television and, at great risk to themselves, rushed to the site and fended off the attackers. One man actually put the victim in the truck…

And here it is folks, the asshole who believes they can’t be racist because “they hate all people equally.” I remember I used to use that line when I was 13 or 14 and thought I was being clever.
