Maybe that’s where I got it from since I read Superfudge. I can’t remember because I read those books over 35 years ago.
A long time ago I went into debt and had to make peanut butter and jelly sandwiches for more meals than I care to remember. Once I got out of debt, I never went back to buying lunch 5 times a week. Meal prepping for the week became my Sunday routine.

I had a window unit that was under a broken rain gutter, which let in bits of leaves and twigs. I never smelled anything bad when running the unit. It wasn’t until I noticed small black spots on the vents.

The job I mentioned in my comment, had to be at work at 8:30, punch out for lunch. Even though we got a set salary, we had to put in the hours.
