I have to say, the sex scenes in that movie were incredibly erotic, too. I’m not sexually into women, but even I felt hot and bothered watching them.

I just watched The Handmaiden this weekend. It works much, MUCH better as an emotionally involving romance than Blue is the Warmest Colour, which it seems fair to compare it to since they were long, arty lesbian romances with incredibly explicit sex that came out at about the same time. The leads are so great!!
 

I also highly recommend Andrew Haigh’s Weekend and Looking, which I’m a bit surprised aren’t on here. Sure, Weekend’s ending is more bittersweet than outright happy, but at least it doesn’t involve gay bashing like QAF and Glee.
