AND why does it have to have straight people? I mean why? Go and live in a Mirror Universe jerk!
AND why does it have to have straight people? I mean why? Go and live in a Mirror Universe jerk!
To be clear, Discovery did not *have to* have a gay couple or a black female lead. These were choices the showrunners made, not requirements handed down to them by CBS or Netflix executives.
I almost have to wonder, are there people out there that find The Closer offensive because the main character was a woman? Was…
It’s incredible how these assholes will accept white males on any show in any role with no problems at all, but any deviation from that any they get *real* concerned about “cliches” and “justifying” the casting choice and downright philosophical about “do we need” to cast a black person, etc?
Fuck you.
Let’s get real here for a moment. The UFP of supposed to be a kind of worldwide government that represents all of earth. White people only represent about 15% of the earth’s population, roughly one billion or so, between the US and Europe. (Canada and Australia’s populations are too small to be statistically…
I can’t really tell by the tone of your comment if you’re actually triggered by the diverse cast or not. Most ensemble casts these days do tend to be rather diverse.

Why did Kirk have to kiss Uhura? This is a franchise that has traditionally been about challenging our preconceptions, and pushing our boundaries? The question really should be, why not?
Neither you nor the writer here come off like you have reasonable ideas about the importance of politics to the quality of a show like this one, hth
IT’S DEBRA MESSING, YOU GAYS!
Giuliana Rancic, who explained that they were skipping the traditional “who are you wearing?” question in favor of “why are you wearing black?”
Probably standard issue fat shaming.
Bingo. This comment gets everything right. 40% is generous.
I think the offer of 40% was fair and I’m kind of surprised they didn’t take it. Aside from the first minute, the songs are completely different. She intentionally or unintentionally cribbed the first verse or two, sure, but what makes Creep so memorable is really the chorus and especially the bridge.
“I hate it when people make claims like this and then can’t don’t back them up with a single example. Cite one besides “The Air That I Breathe.”
And thus begun the universal shift away from loving Radiohead.
Nope.
The subtext of my comment was that I don’t believe budget was the reason Fuller left American Gods. He gave every indication that it was a passion project for him, and every single project he’s ever done has been on a shoestring budget. Particularly on the heels of how things ended with Discovery, I just don’t buy it.…
These last two years have been the first time Fuller had too many opportunities and got distracted. Up until this point his issue was shows getting cancelled (Wonderfalls, Pushing Daisies, Hannibal) or not picked up from pilot (Amazing Screw-On Head, Mockingbird Lane, High Moon). The only show he left before…
I’ve never seen such a successful show fall completely apart before the 2nd season even started filming. What the hell is going on. Has TV finally started morphing into the dreadful movie industry?
She was one of the most memorable parts of the season, though — 90 seconds or no.
