I agree about kicking the cat in retaliation. I assumed the kick was to get the cat off of the baby. I don't disagree with you about hitting or kicking animals. I just know the rage of something harming your baby & when that happens you don't pause or take time to think. It's a reflex.

You must not have a baby. I love my dogs. I worship my dogs. If my dog ever attacks my kid it's going to get hurt. I don't care who you are or how much I love you. If you attack my kid all bets are off. I'm not even a violent person. But don't go near my kids or you'll get hurt.
