Prosecutors cut deals all the time. Public opinion most certainly does have an effect on a potential crime sentence.

I think the felony charges are bullshit and I hope the State realizes the people are on her side and offer her a good plea bargain. Who decided this statue was worth over $1500 anyway? If you ask me it’s worth ZERO.

Oh, trust me, I’ve been fighting that battle since I was about 16. Nothing changes. No amount of logic or reason or pleas to empathy. They are impenetrable. When you give someone reasons to feel superior or others, that’s a very hard thing to un-do.
