Personally this is what I’d do too. If I went out to get a drink, I have budgeted for this. I don’t need it paid for, just give it to the employees. 

And nobody but the worker you tipped will know. The next person gets to the window and is told their total and asked to pay, same as they would if there had never been a pay-it-foward thing.

You kid, but I remember when I was a kid and wanted really hard a specific VW Beetle toy. My father saved up to buy it, but when he finally got around buying it, the thing was out of stock.

Reminds me of this video I saw back in college (10 ish years ago) which led to me also rescuing a “nobody’s” bike that had been abandoned near the main bus stop, rear wheel taco’d after being clipped by a snow plow. Granted, mine was some cheap-o, no-name, steel framed road bike, not nearly as cool as this one.
