Toronto beat them twice in the regular season, once in Oakland and once in Toronto. In the game in Oakland, Kawhi didn’t play, GSW had all their starters, and the Raptors held them to 93 points and won by double digits. It’s a very small sample size, but I think you’re downplaying Toronto.

NBA finals are tough when you're down to only two all-stars.

Uh... how about go ahead and write something about the Raptors instead?

Like, I don’t understand how so many don’t understand this. You’re beating a team that never had a shot before the game. You’re not even trouncing a historic hated rival and wanna rub their nose in it a little bit. Play the rest of the game hard, sure, score as many as you can with a view to the standings and the

Fuck, your article and the first comment I read completely miss the point: nobody disputes that the U.S. was justified in scoring as many times as possible, with goal differential being a factor in the standings. It’s about celebrating the 8th or 9th or 10th goal and beyond against an outclassed, clearly dispirited

Nah. Having a pay gripe does not excuse needless celebrations when you’re up by nine goals.

You do realize that is not what the panel was criticizing. Their comments were about the celebrations, not the score.

While I agree that the commentary was a little dramatic from the Canadian Broadcast Team, the USWNT celebrations were a bit much, They are the dominate force in the game and should display a little more class than that especially when playing against a far inferior team that was just happy to be there for the first

I think they were taking issue with the celebrations of the goals rather than the goals themselves-- just my reading of it.  But you’re right, if you include goal differential as part of the determination as to who moves forward, score as many as you possibly can.

This is delicious theater.

American fans tried to respond with the Star-Bangled Banner but then they forgot the words.

Yes, yes yes! I want Durant to have to fly to Toronto, play 12 minutes, look horrible, and have the Warriors lose by 10+ points... just to remove the stupid asterisk people are putting beside these wins by the Raptors.

Warriors could only play the team in front of them, same with Toronto. If the Raptors win, they're the champions. Warriors fans gotta be honest about that.

I *hate* the dialogue and “what-if”s surrounding this Finals.

Health is a matter of luck, but there are aspects of health that a team can control.

Eh. I appreciate to outsiders that the Raps winning over a depleted Warriors team may not be to everyone’s liking but I don’t think it would matter much in the grand scheme of things. Especially when the Warriors losing Thompson basically just knocks them down to what every other team in the league looks like.

Also, isn’t that stage set up and in use for every playoff game for Raps and Leafs?

you could have literally not clicked this article and you would have accomplished your goal but you went out of your way to be a crybaby

So Landeskog was conclusively offside? Isn’t that the only way they could overturn the call on the ice is if they knew without a doubt he was offside?

Fucking Boston gets away with SO MUCH SHIT. Between Chara and Marschand that team can get fucked. It’s just not enjoyable to watch them literally beat the shit out of another team and not even get so much as a glance from the refs while if someone looks at them wrong a penalty is called.
