Clayton Lust, I genuinely do not believe that you are a teacher. If you haven't dealt with any deviousness on the part of your students, then you are being taken for a fool by them every single day.

I concur! Some of these commenters forgot what they were like in high school.
I agree with you. I don't actually think the author is right about it being "unfair" to bring up Clinton's age.
Okay? I'm confused...
I do think it's interesting that that the Democrats have spent years (accurately) depicting Republicans as the party of "old white men," and as soon as we want to champion an old white woman, we're shouting "foul" if someone brings up her age. I kind of think we did this to ourselves. Democrats have been using "old"…
I do think the author's position is naïve, though. Since when has politics ever been fair?
It is true that people made McCain's age an issue, but it was unfair. This is the author's point:
Yes, I do get your point. I just don't think it's relevant. That's only relevant if it were an ad for being a firefighter or an instructional firefighter video. It's not relevant if it's just to get someone to buy a different product, like deodorant.
I think this ordinance is fairly recent. At least, that's what I heard... maybe I'm thinking of Brookhaven...
We don't want you here anyway... Yankee. ;)
HA! The headline for this article should read: Outraged Dancers Don't Know What A Commercial Is!
That's fine.
Yes, this is an issue I'm afraid to weigh in on for exactly the reasons you said. I'm very interested in what others feel about this.
Haha! Absolutely. I agree completely!
I see your point, and symbolically, this is often the case for women. Her physical appearance is more important than her ability. However this is a fashion ad. Models are typically very conventionally attractive because they need to be to sell the clothing.
Wait... I'm self righteous? I don't recall being a non-professional dancer with some previous dance training critiquing the dance skills of a fashion model over the Internet. I also never said this:
I agree and I feel the same way! Free People made a bad commercial, but I think the bitterness towards the model is unfair. They chose a model because she's a fashion model, not a dancer. She also did a great voice over, which is something that many dancers may not have been able to do as well.
Not upset at all! I think it's entertaining that there is a world of bitter dancers critiquing the technique of an actress/model on the Internet and don't know that commercials aren't real life.
Autobiographic ad? What difference doesn't make? It's fiction. It's a clothing commercial.
Well thank goodness this a commercial for clothes and not an instructional ballet video!
