Well, yeah.

So, an $80,000, leading-edge tech, fully electric vehicle, with a huge internal battery, AND connected to a charger, can’t send even a trickle charge to it’s own 12v battery? And it has to be partially dismantled just to reach it, because it can’t use it’s huge internal battery, or power from a charger, to do

Let’s everybody go straight for the buzzwords for maximum drama.

How ‘bout the media stop blaring shit like this so everybody gets all hyped up about it? If every idiot hears about something every time his phone goes “ding” and runs out and panic buys shit, of COURSE there’s going to be a shortage - it’s self-fulfilling.

Accidents happen all the time, in all kinds of weather, in all kinds of traffic. Was the inclement weather a factor? Most likely. So were:

‘97 XJ owner here. I drove it, passed it down to my daughter, who passed it over to my son, who passed it back to me.

Sure hope that’s not mine.

Well duh, everybody knows the bigger a truck is, the fewer laws and rules the driver has to follow. Speed limits, tailgating, yield signs, parking spots, etc - you don’t have to worry about unimportant details like those if you have at least 4 doors, a lift kit, and several thousand watts of led lightbars.

Didn’t they find them parked out in the Mexican desert?

Having trouble picking just one:

I grew up in Kingsville, Dad had ranches outside Refugio and Ricardo/Rivera. Had cousins in McAllen and Edinburg. Thank God we moved up into the hill country in the mid ‘70's. South Texas is a vast wasteland of mesquite and scrub brush, drive that beamer out northwest of San Antonio and enjoy some real fun roads.

Waiting for one of these to be bought (well) used, then driven cross country to Moab and taken off road. And left there.

Didn’t the driver have the nickname “Shoulders”?

Streets are for cars. Sidewalks are for people. If you don’t want to get smooshed by a car, stay out of the street.

Streets are for cars. Sidewalks are for people. If you choose to ride a bicycle (or a skateboard, or a scooter, or skates, or walk, run, or jog, etc) in the street, you’re probably going to get smooshed. Sorry, that’s just reality.

You know, they’re really not bad looking cars at all, I like ‘em. I’d consider buying one if they didn’t have such an....owner stigma

Bolt Depot, BelMetric, McMaster-Carr, Allens Fasteners, Aircraft Spruce....yeah, there are a few online sources for Grade 10.9/12.9 metric and Grade 8 SAE hardware. McMaster even has some F911/L9 grade bolts (think hardware used on Baja race trucks).

You want bare bones? I’ve got a 912 that’s so bare bones it doesn’t even have an engine! But it does have...patina:

The flatbiller fanboys are squealing like little girls.

It doesn’t matter how honest you are with your mechanic, we’ll find out anyway. Mileage doesn’t lie. Neither do worn out brake pads, grooved rotors, bald tires, oil that has reverted to tar, electrode-less plugs, cracked wires, decades old date stamps on filters, timing chains that rub through castings, hard-as-a-rock
