The judge (who it ultimately was up to) shouldn’t have granted him bail. That doesn’t mean the laws are entirely to blame. My point is that violence against women is seen as not important, hence why he got bail. That’s the bigger issue than the specific bail and gun laws in NJ.

Common sense? NJ is one of the few states with the toughest gun laws. It’s more of an issue, imo, with abuse against women not being taken seriously.

Your point about the billing is absolutely correct. I worked at a law firm and if a client was making payments, no matter what the amount was on how much debt, you can’t send them to collections.

This is late but THANK YOU for saying not to hitchhike alone. I got shit for not wanting to hitchhike alone in safe countries (like Costa Rica, etc). I just didn’t feel comfortable and I’d be blamed if something happened to me. It cost me more $ and other times I walked long distances, but it was worth it to me.
