As always, here to shill my favourite game of all time for this list: Chrono Trigger

Seems to be missing Castlevania: Symphony of the Night

Hate to be that guy, but as someone just getting into adult sets this past year, he’s cheating like crazy with glue and a saw. That’s not a Lego build. Still cool, though.

It’s a cool project but it’s hardly mind blowing since he’s really just building a new shell for the internals.

Mindblowing seems like a bit of a stretch for just making a new case out of a different material. And it’s not like this is remotely close to a normal Lego build - he’s modified the shit out of it.

You completely misread my post, to a baffling degree. Like, I’m wondering whether you actually read and/or understood what you were reading.

FFS, what do YOU think this statement conveys:

You wouldn’t want to hear a Seven Time Signature Army?

When Hocus Pocus was released in July 1993 it bombed in the box office. I think the reason it was released in summer is due to that Disney didn’t want it to compete with the Nightmare Before Christmas that was released in October. Hocus Pocus has since become a hit replaying every year on Freeform

All great picks! Bravely Second not as good imo, but still deserves a home.

I went with Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate because Generations Ultimate is available on Switch.

In all honesty I think what they SHOULD have done is something like the No Man’s Sky model, release a simple basic, but functional game, and then expand on it over time.  Had they gone that route I think you would see a lot less, this is a grift, and more of wow look how far they came.  Star Citizen is the poster

Freelancer and it’s predecessor Starlancer were utterly brilliant games. Obviously nothing beats Wing Commander but they were almost as good.

You are missing the point. Had it remained in Roberts’ responsibility, it would simply never have released at all.

Callistos budget probably also includes things like marketing, distribution, licensing fees etc. while SC doesn’t (at least not on the same scale) yet. Callisto also has some rather big actors involved for motion capture and VO, which do cost quite a bit, and I’m not familiar enough with SC to know if they have

Until there’s actual narrative content, that’s about all you can do. Also, pay lots of real money for ingame items that don’t exist yet.

Because it was pretty good. But as Leonson pointed out in the comments:

Correct. This has kept Chris, Sandi and Erin Roberts gainfully employed for over 10 years with high paying jobs. Iirc Erin Roberts got a raise to over $500k per year in 2021.

Those that remember Freelancer fondly need to understand that the game was only finished because he was taken off of it.

The update—which introduced a bunch of stuff, so much that they made a trailer for it

The only vision he had was cold hard cash money for juuuuust enough to keep the suckers coming back for more. This is the greatest grift I have ever seen. One so blatant I cant even feel bad for the dummies who continue to get scammed because the writing has been on the wall for almost a decade at this point, lol
