And terrible wastes of what could have been great single player games, or great non-live-service multiplayer games. Destiny at least feels like it is the game it is supposed to be and uses its format properly.

It is worth playing even if you were turned off by the first one. By the second game they basically completely scrapped the combat and started anew. The third game is pretty interesting combat, especially with the next gen update letting you access your spells akin to Batman’s quickfire gadgets.
