I feel like plenty of literate adults don’t know how nutrition and healthy eating works. It’s a skill set like anything else; being literate is not the only thing needed to be able to understand how to navigate diet and nutrition.

One is to eat and one is for sport. One is sad, yes, but is natural, while the other is torturing an animal for years on end all in the name of fun. Now that I think about it, the way these horses are treated is probably not very dissimilar to how dogs subjected to dog fighting are treated.
