I daily-drove my Iron-Puke-powered, 3-speed auto 1985 Fiero from the day I bought it in high school until about 2 years after college. Total of about 8 years. It was rather... uneventful. When I purchased it, it was $675, and the previous owner beat the ever-loving hell out of the poor pegasus.

How in the hell has Miata not shown up in the comments here yet?! o.O? But seriously. NB with a manual. Small. Light. Only two seats so no distracting passengers in the back seat. Not enough power to get in significant trouble. Very predictable in most/all situations, making it intuitive to control and get out of
