I guess a year too eary! i’ve had my 2015 GC for a year and i still manage to shift in to the wrong gear coming out of reverse or park.
As someone who works at a Chrysler dealership and has to drive Grand Cherokees all day, let me be the first to say that the new shifter is SO MUCH BETTER. Also they added stop/start which is kind of annoying but you can switch it off.
2016 they changed the design for the shifter. You can buy a 2016 Grand Cherokee with that new shifter design right now

How...would that work? With the front wheels (and probably the rears) pointed at each other, wouldn’t they have to turn in ‘opposite’ directions? How does the power get to the ground in that thing? Half the wheels would have to be powered in reverse and half the wheels powered in drive.
