I heard that too. He would do an awesome job! We would have a moody Doctor once again.

I must say that I am sad to hear that Smith is leaving. I had heard he was going to stay on for one more season, but now it looks like we will get one special and the Christmas episode before he goes.

I just feel the episode would have meant more if we had actually seen the relationship develop first. As it was, we only got occasional glimpses of them together, none of which felt real. In the end the writers basically hung a lamp on how poorly the relationship was done by ending it when the characters themselves

Too bad it is too late for him to save some of the storylines they killed while he was gone. The Troy/ Brita relationship comes to mind. It's like they had no idea what to do with it without him there, so they just killed it and went back to status quo. Sad, but this seemed to be the season of introducing plot lines

AHHHH!

I don't know. I saw Tennant as Hamlet, and he has the chops to play more dramatic. I also saw Star Trek, so right now Cumberbatch and me...we ain't right.

Thank you. I just hope one day we can live in a world free of this man ;-)

Wow, actually Tennant sounds awesome for Doc Strange. Someone call Hollywood!

Oh god no! Don't even think it or you'll summon him!

Thanks for the suggestions. I have the first on the list, and the Blind Watchmaker. I'll check out a few of the others as well. I just generally am looking to brush up on the subject as best as an amateur can do.

Very interesting. My summer project is to work on reading up more about evolution and the origins of life. I have already picked up a few texts, but stuff like this I always find fascinating. If anyone has good suggestions let me know!

Many things to reply too, but really just a few quick points. 1. The status quo I was referring to was pre-soviet Russia. Obviously she was anti-Stalin.

Price v quality. You get what you pay for every time.

I've seen a few, but sadly they are outside of my price range. Still, I have a few actual typewriters I like to use that are quite nice. One day I'll take the time to craft my own.

I can assure you that just because certain consumer goods are more prevalent, that doesn't mean they are just "better" which is a squishy term to say the least. I would say that the idea that things were necessarily better simple because they are old is just as fallacious as saying everything is better today. I think

Actually I still feel that this is a fair statement to make. I say that because, like most people who do not understand communism, or socialism, she equated everything Stalin did with what communism was, and allowed that to permanently color her attacks on anything she saw as even remotely related to communism. This

While we may have lost this battle, it is important to keep in mind that in the long run, ball shaped battleships will win us the war!

I would also add that Man and Bull cannot make a minotaur.

While not a great film by most standards, this movie does have some really great scenes, particularly the lightsabre fight at the end. That scene alone almost made me like it, but the rest of the film was just too much of a mess/retcon for me.

This article also tracks the sad evolution of beautiful machines into cold and sterile chunks of plastic. It's really sad how lame these things became as they got more and more mass produced. Machines used to be as much about craftsmanship as function, and now they are just disposable chunks of plastic to be used and
