They can set the precedent that they listen to the folks harmed by transphobia, including their own employees, and take down the special in the interest of reducing harm and refusing to platform bigotry.

Apparently Chappelle is relishing his “cancelled” status (although he isn’t, this article clearly explains that), and in the mean time Netflix suspended a trans woman who (checks notes) made a thread explaining why the comments from a “sticky” program are damaging and ending with dozens of names of trans people who

Says the South Park fanboy who defends transphobes...

13 Reasons Why was one of the most heinous pieces of shit I can remember seeing on TV, made even worse by people being gaslighted for years over how “important” and “aware” the show was. Netflix has had so many toxic shows, but that will always take the cake.

Thank you random cis person telling trans people that their opinions aren’t valid...

Ahh yes, right-wing hate speech always just goes away quietly if the people who don’t like it just ignore it.

A lot of male comedians of a certain age seem really oddly obsessed with the trans-community, and particularly trans-women.

I honestly think Dave Chappelle isn’t hateful, just that he doesn’t understand.

Yeah agreed, I just don’t get people like him and Rowling. You’re old, you’re uncomfortable with trans stuff, it’s weird to you, fine, but why the obsession, why do you have to triple down on it? My guess is they’re old, bored and rich, and thinking about this stuff gives them something to do that feels meaningful,

“In terms of our commitment to inclusion, we’re working hard to ensure more people see their lives reflected on screen and that under-represented communities are not defined by the single story. So we’re proud of titles like “Sex Education,” “Young Royals,” “Control Z” and “Disclosure.” Externally, particularly in

On top of the tone-deaf memo, he had the nerve to use marketing speak like “stickiest.” He can go fuck himself.

“Chappelle is one of the most popular stand-up comedians today, and we have a long standing deal with him. His last special “Sticks & Stones,” also controversial, is our most watched, stickiest and most award winning stand-up special to date. “

Now playing

This retrospective does a pretty in-depth look at the character from No Man’s Land to Rebirth.

MEW’s Huntress was pretty much the only thing I liked about the movie, I’d love to see her in more stuff as that character.

My only issue with BoP is that the Cassandra Cain in the movie is not the character from the comics. Like, the kid who played her did fine for what her character was and I have no in-story criticisms of the character herself. Just, she’s not the neurodivergent daughter of two assassins trained only to fight by reading

Not to mention that it’s an ensemble film that introduces so many characters and each are fleshed out and have individualism. If people haven’t seen Birds of Prey, that’s their loss.

Birds of Prey was the last movie I saw in a theater before COVID (and still the last movie I’ve seen in a theater because COVID isn’t over yet) and it was a lot of fun - between that and The Suicide Squad, a lot of improvements have been made to the DCEU version of Harley Quinn.

I would not put Birds of Prey down to covid. It was the last movie I saw in theaters before shutdown but no one stateside was changing their behavior at all at that point.

Yeah, my mom says "Who'll I call when someone is breaking into my house?" Which prompts me to wonder just how often law enforcement interrupts an active home invasion. Seems like I'd hear more about it if it happened a lot.

Serious question back: Have you been in a lot of situations where the police stopped you from getting mugged?
