He must have saved himself by hiding in a nearby fridge.

The one in the final episode. BoJack’s one last act before he tried to commit suicide was to call someone not to apologize or say “thank you”, but to bring someone down. It doesn’t come from a place of targetted malice but self-loathing, but it doesn’t matter if it’s intentional or not. Getting a phone call from

yeah, their friendship was in a good place in ‘The Face of Depression’ and even after the interview came out I think she still believed he was a better person now and that he’d changed. that phone call was all the confirmation she needed that old Bojack will always be a part of him, and its not her job to always be

Bojack’s grown enough not to try to change her mind or throw a tantrum, but just sit with her on the roof and make the most of it before she’s gone

great points here. it really struck me rewatching the finale after reading all the comments on here how well-written and directed that final conversation was - specifically how RBW makes you know that this is the last conversation Diane and Bojack will ever have without anyone explicitly saying it, which would ruin

“Fuck man, what else is there to say?” in full. and yeah, that’s one of the best line deliveries I’ve ever heard - there’s just no getting around how little malice there is in it but how much he truly means it anyway.

Maybe the F-words were the friends we made along the way.

Honestly, I gotta say, Todd’s exhausted and resigned exhaling of the the ‘F’ bomb; “Fuck, man. It’s you.” from S3 is probably my favorite. It’s not said out of passion or anger or some deep-seeded animosity. Just clear, matter of fact.

When someone in Hollywoo says “fuck” to someone else, they, and the writers, want that sentiment to land.”

Hold up! CBS is doing a new cop show?! NO WAY!!!!

Is there a reason most cartoons aimed at adults have to have off-putting art

CBS trying to make us feel good about cops. So what else is old?

No one is actually complaining about gender swapped voice actors. That is such a nontroversy.

It’s far less common for a non-white actor to voice a white role than the other way around. Zoe Kravitz might be just about the only one? There are fewer roles for women/nb/people of color in general so to see white men/women as the default makes it worse. And yes, women tend to voice prepubescent boys - for fairly

King of the Hill is no longer on the air, or we might be having the same discussion. Simpsons is for god knows what reason still making new episodes.

After the Apu thing came out on Friday I had the realization that Khan from King of the Hill is literally the exact same thing—immigrant character with an exaggerated accent played by a white guyand nobody gives a shit. Kind of how funny how that works.

Well the Apu thing started with a comedian pointing out how the character’s voice had been used endlessly to mock people like him - the fact that the voice was also played by a white person exacerbated the issue.

Fortunately it’s on Apple TV+, so no one will ever see it and get upset.....

More specifically, women commonly do voices for boys in cartoons, which makes sense as they’re usually more convincing doing a prepubescent voice than a man would be, and if you hire an actual prepubescent boy for a role, you have to plan for him to grow out of it pretty quickly.

Gonna just boost this, because yeah. Even Goku is voiced by a little old lady (who can still scream like crazy, I love her.)
