Aerospace and nuclear (my industry) are polar opposite when it comes to throwing material at problems. I saw that recently where I worked with an aerospace company that designed a fixture. They were concerned that the fixture weighed 750 lbs, which seemed insane to them. My design would have been 2900 lbs and I had

Same with New Orleans. Never understood that idiocy.

At some point, SURELY some people will start to realize that building and buying houses near the FL coast is a pretty bad idea. When I was a kid the only older houses I recall seeing near the beach were ones made out of concrete and cinder blocks. None of the newer McMansions they built ever since will stand a chance.

Oh - and it’s not like we have other options to evacuate. The airports are shut down and we don’t exactly have mass transit.

You realize there aren’t just adults on the plane. If I knew it was just adults yeah, tough shit get over it but it’s not unreasonable to not want your 9 year old to see and hear that.

While I agree with you, there are still certain things I would rather not have to describe or define to my 5- and 7-year-old kids at this point in their life.

Are they all honorary members of the Mile High Club now?

Beautiful Impalas indeed!

Pretty sure those are Luminas, dude.

Yep. Honda was bundling a rebranded Juicebox charger with the Prologue, so that’s what I’ve got in my garage. Not a big deal for me from a features perspective since I just plug in before I go bed and unplug when I leave in the morning, but this happened just in time to keep me from getting the $700 rebate from my

Yeah, I remember I sorta scoffed at this lawsuit back in the day, but 3rd degree burns, especially in a sensitive region, are no joke.

This. Those burns were horrific. And the lady originally just wanted them to cover her medical bills. When McDonalds refused, she was forced to lawyer up and take them for everything she could.  And McDonalds deserved it for being recalcitrant shitheads.

That whole McDonalds story is a tremendous example of how a corporation would prefer to dump money into PR than actually do the right thing after they screw up because they deemed the PR cheaper.

Before anyone says anything about the frivolity of the McDonald’s case, go look at the pictures.

How strange. I had something similar happen to me about 20 years ago. I bought a turbo timer for my MR2 and quickly realized I could set it for 10 mins, turn the car ‘off’ (still running, but I had removed the key) lock it, and run into a store to grab something and come out with time to spare.

One day I did this but

This is great. I actually corresponded with a leg. aide of my state rep and they were extremely interested in this topic.

Oh, yay, I hope this is the first of many!

If you  don’t slice your hands wide open.

$4200 to wrap a vehicle that’s all flat panels. There are ZERO complex curves or body lines to follow. This is the automotive equivalent of wrapping a boxed birthday present.

On a side note, I bet places that wrap vehicles LOVE doing these things. Probably the easiest car out there to wrap 🤣
