Thanks for a thorough review Kyle. If you had a ~$3-3.5k budget, what would be your current pick for a gaming laptop at the 14, 15 and 16 inch sizes?

Will play demo on my PS5 this weekend, but probably going to wait until PC release to do playthrough of full game. Just so much nicer to play on a RTX card - consistently hitting 100-120 fps on High/Ultra at ultrawide resolution, even though I only have a 4070 Laptop.

He is a very odd looking little man. Looks like AI fucked up a text-prompt image.

Minivans are great - we have both a minivan (Pacifica) and a 3-row SUV (Q7) for our 3-kid family. Love the Sienna AWD (on our short list to replace the Pacifica). But jeebus if the person is asking for non-minivan suggestions answer their goddamn question without being so pretentious and snobbish about it.

I know the Ford Transit is much newer and starts $5k more expensive, but damn the difference a modern interior makes:

My god... first the shock that they’re still selling these pre-Cambrian fossils new in 2024, then the even bigger shock that they’re charging almost $41k for the BASE cargo model which is just a steel can on wheels.

I hope this doesn’t delay work on OD, because I am much more excited for that than DS2 or Physint. Kojima’s cinematic / auteur tendencies just works so well for horror - as PT and many of the early sequences in DS1 proved.

I think the lesson is don’t commit horrific acts.

Would love to see a detailed, up to date comparison of privacy policies and features on iOS vs. Android. I have a hunch Apple is still significantly more privacy forward than Google despite gaps like these, but honestly these OSes change so fast that a state of the privacy union 2024 would be really helpful.

I’m definitely a single player guy, don’t do multiplayer at all (old, kids, slow reflexes, limited time), but I acknowledge many games can be enhanced for other players with a thoughtful, properly scoped multiplayer component while not necessarily harming the quality or scale of the single player experience.

So... don’t fly on Boeing or Airbus. Got it.

Big ol’ mechanical column shifters that require big intentional movement to shift gears is one thing. Little column shifters with fly-by-wire controls and little buttons that could be easily bumped while driving doesn’t seem like a great idea to me.

Do people not remember that Altec Lansing was one of the biggest brands in home computing sound and is/was a legit third-party accessory company? Man I’m old.

The new trilogy is lazy and terrible, and she deserves the appropriate amount of blame for that.

It’s all about the temp difference between the glass and water, and how cold it is overall. In England, where the temps rarely fall below 20 Fahrenheit, the water trick is probably safe enough. I would have said “tepid” or “room temp” though instead of “warm”.

Checked out of MCU at Age of Ultron and frankly I feel like that was the right call.

Fixed that for you

I just saw this for the first time in the East Village in Manhattan this afternoon. So the answer is clearly rich trust fund hipsters and tech bros.

Fuck the assholes who delete emissions control equipment (and don’t get me started on the dickwads rolling coal) but really the answer is to take all diesels (excluding semis and heavy duty trucks) off the road entirely and replace with PHEVs.

Maybe I missed it, but still no 32:9 ultrawide support?
