Really? I could have sworn that I read a lot of reviews of American cars decrying their antiquated drum brake systems back in the day. But obviously it was a long time ago when 10 yo me was whiling away summer vacation days at the Lansdale PA Public Library reading stacks of car magazines. I was a dork.

The fastest way to get GTA VI is for every wannabe gangster to stop spending dumb amounts of money on GTA Online. Take Two has no incentive to invest against that cash cow as long as it’s squirting our mountains of sweet sweet moolah.

As an avid reader of Car and Driver and Motor Trend at my local library in the late 80’s and early 90’s, I am ashamed to admit I forgot about that intermediate phase in safety tech. This was also when a lot of American (and cheaper import) cars still used drum brakes on all four wheels or only put discs on the front.

For those of us in the US, try buying hand sanitizer right now. 100+% markups on Amazon, most mainline brands sold out on major sites like Walmart or Target, empty store shelves at drug stores. No face masks to be found. Kind of a low key panic mode out there.

Dude, no, just... no.

Spot on

I always appreciate a Fancy Kristen article to close out the week. Thanks!

Are you kidding? Everywhere I go these days the Chinese tourists are the absolute WORST. They’ve taken all the shitty tourist thrones from the Americans, Brits, Koreans, Saudis, Russians, etc.

Lol - sounds like you have a roommate with benefits.

I’m surprised this hasn’t devolved into a morass of racist trolling. Or maybe it has in the grays. I don’t go there. Life’s too short.

Relax, it’s just married guy shorthand for “While I highly desire this item, I have not been able to convince my life partner of the need for said item, and I do not care quite enough about it to cause marital strife over the said item’s acquisition sans-joint approval.” See how much simpler “my wife won’t let me” is?

Man, I love me some minivans and would kill to have something like the Delica or the Toyota Alphard (HK rollers’ choice) in the US, but I agree with you. I couldn’t get my wife to agree on a minivan for years until we finally had 3 kids and she caved. The Pacifica is technically HER car but I love it when I drive it

Agreed. Then again, this is the same company that went from understandable numbers (Windows 1, 2, 3, 3.1, 3.11) to a still understandable year-based naming scheme (Windows 95, Windows 98) to nonsensical letters (XP) and names (Vista) back to numbers (7, 8) then skipped a number just because (10). Of course Apple is

Most of my gaming gift memories are pretty good - the worst thing I remember is Top Gun for the NES. My parents only bought me and my brother one game every six months (which was still pretty awesome of them given we were a lower income immigrant family) and that was the one they got us that Christmas. The music was

He got you what you wanted AND taught you a lesson about dealing with disappointment. Classic awesome dad move. :)

These portraits are making America great again. 80s great.

I love me some Torch content (and you David, and Kristen Lee, and frankly most of Jalopnik) but I hope he got a better editor this time because I bought one of his early/mid 2010s books and I found the typos and grammatical errors that I would ignore in a Jalopnik blog post HIGHLY distracting in a book format.

Mad props. Seriously. I think I got through the first level once.

I generally agree with your substantive points, and people who take their “my pets are my children” shtick too literally annoy me a bit, but maybe your rant on an obviously sarcastic article was not a great look.

When I was 25 I would have thought this was cool as hell. As a 40+ year old father of three little kids I say fuck these selfish, entitled, public endangering pricks.
