OK, I used to work at a thrift store and I am an avid thrifter/flea marketer. Why is it supposed to be some glamorous burn that she was an asshole to the store employee or owner or whatever? She got a great deal! Good for her! Don’t be a fucking asshole about it. But don’t haggle at a thrift store. It’s just rude.

I would actually take Ryan. Pence is a theocrat and as a non-Christian he terrifies me. Ryan is a “libertarian” whose policies, as we have seen, when presented as a real option are wildly unpopular. There are enough crazy theocrats in government and the general population to support what Pence does.

I mean, I don’t like the idea of dealing harshly with Russia because of Reagan-era nostalgia, but there is no reason that we should be cozy with them. They have a sham democracy, an authoritarian dictatorship that took over a part of Ukraine because they could, and which tries to undermine democracies around the world…

I’ve been thinking about reading Stephen King recently. I have never read any of his books before. What do you all think? Are the books really good or just popular? Any favorites?

I got mine at a thrift store for $50! The lady behind me in line saw the price and said “that’s too much for a mixer.” I just shook my head. It has all the standard mixing attachments and a meat grinder. I use it all the time (maybe not the meat grinder).

I second this. We got married right after buying a house and we got about $150 from various people in Home Depot gift cards. We spent it on paint samples and paint for our walls, which were hideously “faux finished” by the previous owners. Perfect.
