I see a number of people saying these are 20k ish cars.  Not from what I’m seeing on a quick search of what is out there.  This is high priced, but right in the middle for the mileage and apparent condition.  I wouldn’t say it NP but it isn’t badly priced either.

Representative of an antiquated mindset, stuck in a past that others have worked hard to move beyond, that mirrors our nostalgia-obsessed culture

It’s not a review, it’s a setup to write the last three paragraphs about why America is Bad

Original MSRP in ‘83: $8,341.

Big truck / SUV means you have concerns. The rest of us have opinions.

I do know where this one came from though... If you grew up in the 70s, you remember your parents trying to get rid of that car before it blew up because it was shitty malaise era garbage. Old habits die hard.

That sinking feeling that you’re driving around in a ticking financial time-bomb?

Sold a perfectly good Ford Focus that I couldn’t get a replacement title to after my Dad died. Conveniently, I found a shady ass tow operator who didn’t care there was no title since even scrapping it requires title in the name of the current owner.

I’ve been noticing quite a few sub-$20K Rolls Royce listings in the last few years, and I don’t remember that being a thing. I’ve never fancied myself a Rolls Royce guy; they were always the stuffy symbol of unobtainable wealth, and themselves, unobtainable to almost anyone. It’s sad to see them show up in used car

I feel like this is a car that was part of a small estate inheritance, hence the lost title. I’ve purchased several cars in the past where this was pretty common. The family just wants to sell the car because they have no interest in grandpa’s hobby and no place to store it, or usually something similar to that. If

Oooh... a shoddily-built project car with a cooling issue and shitty rims for more than the price of a new Miata (which will be faster in any direction other than straight ahead).

65 tons of American Pride!

You forgot this!

I'll tell you what, that train is God damned hero, protecting the good people of Texas from getting wind turbine cancer!

you forgot the piss smell

I have a personal hot take on 3rd gear. Here’s the thing with me - I support all the usual Transit Memes for New Urbanist Teens measures. Cities should serve their citizens. Walkability and density should be prioritized over roads and parking. Resources and entertainment should be well-distributed into the urban

but our towns, suburbs, and cities choked with six-lane quasi-highways are really unpleasant places to walk.”

Any vehicle that can only sit 2 people comfortably is useless to me.

You should give a warning for such a retarded take.

I’ve used mine for family and hauling, even both at the same time. I can fit a full weeks worth of beach vacation gear, suitcases, etc in the bed with a tonneau cover on it to secure it from the elements and eyes, and have a very comfortable cabin inside for my family. No need for a rooftop carrier and I can just
