I really enjoyed the book when I read it when I was 20, but the older I got, the weirder the supernatural elements were. The kid stuff—like the kid interactions in The Body/Stand by Me—are good (well, except for Bev and the boys having sex in the sewer), but the mystic turtle and giant space spider are pretty lame.

That’s kind of why I prefer the mini-series. It was the right amount of cheese with some genuine frights. Tim Curry was a treasure as Pennywise and no one will ever touch that performance.

Last summer my brother and I tried most of the various hard seltzer brands and flavors and declared Truly black cherry the winner.

The book was crazy but good in a way. Once you realize that King admitted to having a huge coke habit, the mystic turtle and the unnecessary and weird gang bang make druggists sense. But the first movie sucked too. Didn’t get the hype and it was far from scary.

And the formula was already old when Superbad did it. American Graffiti, Ferris Bueller, The Breakfast Club, Dazed and Confused, Can’t Hardly Wait, American Pie—the “last day/night of high school”/”one night in high school where everything changes movie trope (and related variations) has existed as long as teen

All that trippy shit reminded me of the half-assed eastern mysticism shit in Chirstopher Pike books.

Creed is Q

Creed would never register to vote. That’s how they get you.

Creed is the real Jack Ryan.

Creed is either a Tupamaro-style radical Leftist who got too zonked out on drugs to contribute to the Collective Action against state, or his politics are informed primarily by his cult (-leader and -follower) years

Ooh, ooh, it’s secret option J, right?  All of the above?

She’s doing better than Bernie and has a deeper knowledge of policy than Bernie. Which means the DNC and the media and BIG POLL is conspiring with her to destroy Bernie.

Especially given the fact that in 2016 she was the “woman I would actually vote for president” to prove that I’m not misogynistic.

Can we please stop the trope of ‘I’ve never seen this thing but I’m going to write about it”  Ignorance is not instructive or charming.  Informed opinions are.

Tomatoface, this aggression will not stand, man

finally, satire as bad as the cannibal witch posts

I think any Jewish people that votes for a Democrat — I think it shows either a total lack of knowledge or great disloyalty.”

One time, because we needed to make quarterly profitability margins, an executive said we should fill the pool with bottles of Evian instead of bottles of Voss water. They made us rent a U-Haul, drive to the woods in Jersey where we dump all the plastic bottles, pull the empty bottles of Voss water from the last time

FIFY

Yeah, honestly, it sounds like she was getting defensive over a bad question when this was not actually a bad question.
