If this wasn’t an administration that had already tangled with the Anne Frank House, engaged in antisemitic tropes, campaigned on banning a religion from the country, and attractied the support of neo-Nazis, I might think it was an accident. But I believe this administration is chock-a-block full of antisemites and

Same. I think he’s either a very, very nervous and insecure person - and as such shouldn’t have a job that requires public speaking - or he’s not but isn’t comfortable lying - and as such shouldn’t work for Trump.

To be a spokesperson it is important to speak like a person.

I messaged my friend who works in PR to confirm that a competent PR person should not need to issue a clarification to his clarification. Getting a clear statement out the first time is literally his job. He’s supposed to clean up messes, not make them.

He can’t say that though because his shriveled worm of a heart truly and fully believes that the people Hitler gassed were not innocent. They were minorities. Probably a lot of bad hombres and the like. This is what happens when casual racism becomes the norm. The deplorables keep saying exactly what they mean and the

I know. Everything he said was shitty and you can’t fix it at all. I would have mercy if he were just a regular guy who doesn’t speak to the press much. On the rare occasions I have been interviewed by reporters I fear I’ll screw up because I’m nervous. But I think about what I’m going to say before I say it so that

I don’t care why he did it. If he can’t think on his feet long enough to pause for a second and realize that

A) Using them on the battlefield and using them in a gas chamber you shoved prisoners into, is a distinction without a difference.

B) The Jews were “his people” they were citizens of his country or of countries

I myself prefer his subtle insistence that the real difference is that Assad killed “innocent” people, unlike those people in the Holocaust Centers who know what they did.

Yes-this feels like such insight into his mind. It’s fine to gas Jews, just not “innocent people”. UGH. I want to hit something.

oh and “I was trying to draw a contrast of the tactic of using airplanes to drop chemical weapons on innocent people.”
“innocent people”
“INNOCENT PEOPLE”

I mean, I KNOW! He said Holocaust Centers! This is the number one story about stupid today. I assume United is sending Spicer a Fruit Basket.

That bit frightened me too! WTF “not his own people”?? He killed a few million German citizens, fachrissakes. That phrase is very telling, indeed, of this administration’s attitude.

Meanwhile Gen Mattis just said, “Even during WWII, gas weapons weren’t used on the battlefield,” which seems to be an urgent cleanup of what was supposed to be the White House message about Assad.

His entire job is to speak clearly and purposefully in public.

Intentional or not, it further shows this Administration has pushed what many refer to as “soft” or “softcore” Holocaust Denial. “Not his own people” is a frightening statement about what the Nazis did that is historically inaccurate but more important, pushes the actual Nazi idea that Jews within the German borders

Here’s a good public speaking tip: It’s okay to pause and think about your answer. And if you get lost while speaking, pause and think again.

Yeah. The way he uses the phrase “innocent people.” As if the people Hitler sent to concentration camps weren’t?

I think we all hope that someday we will rise to the level where we can be this incompetent and still keep our job.

He is supposed to represent the views of the administration and the President he serves. In that, I think he is doing a swell job of expressing their exact sentiments.

I think he has some sort of breakdown daily. And it’s usually occurring right about the time the press corps files into the building.
