The Stand is my favorite end of the world book. Even though it’s super long, I always want it to be longer when I finish it.

Some of his best, imo are IT, The Stand, Different Seasons, and The Shining, in that order.
My absolute favorite, and one of my favorite books period, is King’s “The Stand.” A post-apocalyptic story that you cannot believe was written in 1978, still really prescient and one of the great precursors of the post-apocalyptic genre boom.
“Not everyone has the means or desire to just pick up and leave where they are, and coal mining may be the only choice they have if they want to make a living wage.”
My Trump swear jar where I drop in whatever coins I have for uttering that same “That Trump is a fucking piece of shit” is getting mighty full. I’m talking about filing my way into a Porsche before the year’s out.
How dare you recognize the industry has been in decline for 40+ years and the coal miners who voted for him:
It’s a great job for the people who own and run the mines and processing plants, and I’m guessing that’s who 45 is pandering to with all his yammering about coal.
The Dems need to make a deal about healthcare based on WHAT?!? The GOP had seven fucking years to draft a plan and instead they proposed something they half assed something they scribbled on a cocktail napkin in seventeen days. The fact that he’s salivating at the idea of people going broke because of medical expenses and having their lives ruined (or ended) is...well it’s classic Chump Republican Administration Protocol (or C.R.A.P.) but still unbelievably despicable.
Yeah but coal mining is pretty sweet if you own a coal mining company.
Have we talked today about what a fucking piece of shit Trump is? I don’t feel like I’ve voiced my daily affirmations yet.
Exactly. Now, if we could just bring in factories producing solar panels or wind turbines and retrain the coal miners to work there for better conditions, safety, and future for their families . . . nah, that would make too much sense. And plus, the GOP would have to admit that climate change exists.
The Democrats will make a deal with me on healthcare as soon as ObamaCare folds - not long. Do not worry, we are in very good shape!
A+ curse!
All those slack jawed white boys in that photo....I hope all their preferred ball sport teams lose every game from here until the world burns.
Around about July 2016, as best I can determine.
The White House did certainly prevent Yates from testifying, by having Nunes completely shut down the committee. They could not disband the committee, but a committee that never meets is effectively deleted. We’ll see how long this lasts, and we’ll see if Yates is permitted to testify publicly in another forum, I…
