Man, Paul Ryan is so close to getting his “fuck the poor, cut taxes on the rich” agenda pushed through, and now he is stumbling at the one yard line.
He’s the unholy offspring of toad and a Goodfellas LaserDisk
Trump also told a half-eaten sandwich that it was on the list, because it resembled the profile of Adolph Hitler
This awful (but hopefully short) era has never been better for gif. artists and meme-makers:D
If Paul Manafort does not plead the 5th, then the guy will perjure himself. It’s a win win as far as I’m concerned. He will be asked about the millions he took from the pro Russian Ukranian former president; he will be asked about the millions he took in behalf of Putin’s regime; he will be asked about his role in…
Ryan’s not entirely off base. The GOP has spent the last 8 years as a post policy party that had no interest in formulating any position on anything other than “Obama/Democrats BAD!!!!!!!” and this is the inevitable end result.
Exactly, it’s not that they don’t know how to govern, it’s that their current ideology precludes them from governing effectively.
I know. How dare they pass a bill that actually cuts the rate of uninsured people and makes sure most preventative care is covered.
That’s the part that gets me about those types of people, they live in the 70's or 80's and have no idea what modern automation looks like. Let alone where it’s going.
They kept chasing votes by going further right, and would lose some of their moderates in the process. It probably never occurred to them to say fuck the freedom caucus and try getting votes by going slightly left.
His other nearly infinite flaws aside, Trump knows when to cut and run while throwing out tons of distraction and garbage. I’d be surprised if he leans on Congress to do anything on health care for the next couple months.
Hopefully they call out Ryan’s horseshit excuse that they have been the opposition party for the better part of a decade and are learning how to govern. Dude, no. Not controlling the executive branch doesn’t automatically make you the opposition party. It wasn’t Democrats ramming through repeal bills and blocking the…
Absolutely. I mean, this is essentially the same group of fuckers that kneecapped the ACA as we HAVE it. The two years they delayed the rollout gave insurers time to 1) jack up existing premiums and 2) come up with all sorts of shit plans to sell in the ACA marketplace. It’s infuriating.
Blames healthcare defeat on Democrats? Well, no shit, Trumplock. That’s what happens when you lie about their main man and propose a shitty, half-assed replacement for the act that has Obama’ name on it “just because”. And thank God some Republicans realized that their heartland home base was about to be royally…
That specifically is the point I keep coming back to. Both he and Ryan kept saying “just short” “not quite enough” and I’m like look guys, I know numbers are hard, but you were more than just short. Also, it doesn’t even matter if you were just short by one, you still failed. So good job.
Immediately following Trump’s statement, CBS followed with fact-checking on what he claimed, namely that the Democrats weren’t to blame—members of Trump’s own party were—and that it was anything but a narrow defeat.
“not even on our radar screen... 50-100 more years away.”
In an interview today, he said that the idea of artificial intelligence supplanting human jobs is “not even on our radar screen... 50-100 more years away.”
