FWIW the one on top with the yellow background - that is not the orbiter, but the booster. In the early shuttle concepts the booster was to land like an airplane as well. You can see them on the pad in image 08_00943, and two more images of the booster in 45 & 46.

some of those color sketches have a real Syd Mead vibe.
