I don’t know, I’m pretty sure “The Time of The Doctor” is a pretty atrocious contender for that position, or as I call it, “The Time of the Doctor’s Exposition.” For being Matt’s big send off, it was so fucking disappointing.

Well, Damon/Elena also happened in the books too, as did her turning vamp, so I don’t think it had to do with the offscreen romance. Their chemistry was pretty palpable before they were an irl couple. But, I do agree it kinda went to hell once she was a vamp and wasn’t our human anchor anymore.

The pacing in seasons 1-3 was so, so good, and the story arcs actually flowed well where the previous arc had things leading towards the following arc.

I remember when I loved this show, and for a while it was genuinely good. I think it basically peaked in Season 3 and afterwards just....downhill.
