Probably.
Probably.
Or they would have done a straight up late Aughts/early teens remake with Chris Pine as Luke and Julianne Hough as Leia.
Yeah, the 1995 new toyline was the beginning of the slow drip, which became a deluge with the Special Editions and ultimately a permanent ocean of Star Wars mania in the pop culture that shows absolutely no signs of every evaporating.
I was old enough to see both Star Wars and ESB in the theaters (though SW was probably one of the first films I ever saw that way), but also young enough to be seriously confused when Vader said he was Luke's father. At that point, me (along with many of my peers) weren't even sure Vader was actually human at all. …
Disney is so terrified about the checkered legacy of the prequel trilogy and so desperate to milk all the money from their costly purchase that they just want the new Star Wars products to be as familiar, safe, comforting and risk-averse as possible.
In junior high school, a friend of mine, who was the biggest Star Wars fan out of all of us big Star Wars fans had a shirt that said, "Star Wars: The First Ten Years 1977-1987" on it. (I think he may have ordered it from the fan club?)
Either that, or it's just extremely hacky, deeply unfunny, utterly disposable filler that exists solely to get Phoebe and Monica (and later the guys) trapped in Monica's room so they can witness the Ross/Rachel fireworks.

Whenever I heard Abbi and Ilana are doing things separately, it makes me sad.
Yeah, I'll rewatch too. Thing is, if they lost the gold AND a huge chunk of their army in one blow, Cersei would be well and truly fucked.
Yes. The Bronn payment scene suggested to me that much of the gold (if not all of it) was still in the caravan or otherwise en route.
I know the Gattis scene was before the battle. I don't recall the line you're referencing, though. So perhaps that's where my confusion came from.
So many characters on this show when she said, "Which Lady Stark", I had to pause for a moment until I remembered that, no, there isn't yet another Stark kid running around somewhere.
Clarification - did the gold actually make it to King's Landing?
It's just called "The Royale."
Well, Hasselhoff exists in the MCU as himself, so they didn't want to throw off continuity sticklers.
I love "Temple of Doom", but that stuff in there was pretty racist.
I was similarly impressed with how "Diff'rent Strokes" made sure to delineate the difference between Gordon Jump's bike store owning pedophile and gay people.
Kathryn Hahn is friggin' fantastic which is why it's so disappointing to see her in these dreadful Solloway vehicles. "Afternoon Delight" was terrible and so is/was "I Love Dick" (though in fairness, I quit after the pilot.)
He also had several guest star parts (as different characters) on "Three's Company" and the producers (correctly) judged that he was a huge talent they wanted to keep around.
