Thanks, but we can all decide for ourselves what is and isn’t worth caring about.
I think the expansion of knowledge of Arpaio’s crimes was necessary. The amount of his atrocities Oliver cited is much bigger than I previously heard about, and, I mean, the webcam in the toilet thing... that just takes the cake.
I know Kinja considers the number of replies to a comment as an indication of quality, but this comment is an example of why that metric is so flawed. I can’t believe this drivel is the first comment to appear on the article.
I also found it interesting that the shoe chose to emphasize how Claire encounters seemingly more misogyny at the hands of her husband’s friends in the “modern” day than she did with her other husband’s friends 200 years earlier. I can’t say I buy it, but it is one hell of a way of drawing attention to how out of…
I think he converted for the jokes.
Fuck off. His work as an editor and co-creator of many characters was his lasting influence. Plenty of comics writing from previous decades doesn’t hold up well to modern eyes, but the characters he touched and ideas he helped birth still remain for new generations of writers to build on.
“Just point to his ‘masterpiece’ and I’ll show you the flaw . . .”
Speaking as someone whoss favorite Marvel character is Wolverine amd who loves all those Wein and Cockrum created X-Men more nearly as much, I’ll call you an asshole. Wein did more for comics than he gets credit for.
It’s amusing to see someone bitch about how someone else isn’t a great writer, while simultaneously completely failing to use proper capitalization and punctuation, not to mention the completely pointless paragraph breaks.
Don’t you mean Tim Whatley?
What have you done to shape the world of comics and popular culture as we know it? Was it writing a dickhead response to an obituary? Why don’t you crawl back into your hole and complain to yourself about anything and everything while the rest of us mourn a talent that touched our lives and brought entertainment to…
I’ll ignore your lack of sensitivity and comment that at least one of your facts is wrong. Wolfman wrote the Judas Contract.
“You’re allowed to be happy, but not in front of me.”
Good to have the Social Assassin back.
Way to be a major asshole on an obituary, you don’t have to have liked his writing but to act like he wasn’t hugely influential in the industry and contributed a lot to comics is just insane
Hey! I thought Outlander recaps were cut? No complaints here; good to have you back.
MVP tonight’s episode Rupert McKenzie (guy with eyepatch)
Bless us, for at last we shall be freed of this miserable franchise! May we ever and always revel in better romances, better depictions of BDSM, and better writing.
