Word. I’ve really, really, really tried time and again to like kimchi and cellophane noodles—it just has never taken. That said, I’m not going to go to a Korean restaurant and order macaroni and cheese.

I just got a text from my 25 year old sister (whom my folks are visiting in North Dakota this weekend) raving about taco pizza and how I’ll have to “top that” (no irony) when they come to my graduation in the Pacific Northwest next month. On one hand, I’m surprised they got as adventurous as getting “taco” anything,

Word. My younger sister who had ADHD and who’s appetite was curbed by Ritalin, was incredibly picky as a child and my parents catered to her (because frankly, unlike the rest of us, she really couldn’t stand to skip a few meals). Flash forward to adulthood, she has the same palate she did when she was 6. When she came

Eh, I have a dog who’s almost as bad (he just can’t verbalize his stupid reasons for being picky). He’ll eat whatever I put down if its in the other dog’s “place,” but if you plate his very favorite things and put them where his food dish belongs, he turns up his nose and walks away.

He also plays the ever so fun game

I don’t love Maxi dresses because I’m short (5’4”), perpetually trip on them, and they’re hot as hell (not sexy hot, Florida hot)—if I want to steam my bits, I’ll go to Gwyneth Paltrow’s salon.

That said, I think they look great on other people and they hide a multitude of “sins”. I just can’t hate on them.

I actually don’t believe that was your point—I think you’re just trying to piss people off as evidenced by your treatment of other commenters all over this thread. You’re throwing out unsubstantiated judgments about the server and making personal attacks. I’m not sure what you’re getting out of it, but I’m not really

Actually, I am basing my statement largely on what’s reported and commented on in Kitchenette. I haven’t read much about tipping being associated with any race or ethnicity, although I have heard that stereotype, but not in a long while.

While I appreciate your attempt to bring data into the discussion beyond anecdotes (I really do), the data you offer isn’t super compelling. The tipping data is based on tips given via Square only and doesn’t factor in things like international tourism or what service industries are represented. The enlistment map

Let’s see, who are notoriously crappy tippers? Church folks, college kids, and military—you’ll notice the common thread is insular communities that tend to foster an “Us vs. Them” mentality. I totally believe Heflin’s assertion. I’m not necessarily a fan of how he handled it.

And “patients”. I’m glad the East Coast distinguished schools are still clearly skimming the cream from the top.

I’m having the feels for the Subway worker—the only thing worse than dumb, is dumb and mean. It’s a lethal combination and when you include stamina, you’re done for.

I live in Portland, OR, so everyone assumes I’m a vegetarian or vegan foisting my politics on my dog.

Somewhat unrelated, my dog can’t eat meat—he has portosystemic liver shunt disease and can’t tolerate the protein. If you want to be looked at like an asshole, try going into a pet store and asking for vegetarian food for your dog. The folks behind the counter get it, but there’s always serious side-eye from the other

In Oregon, you eventually get to spend a lot of time in traffic court (low speed limits, vigilant cops), so you learn an awful lot.

Actually, most U-turns in Oregon are illegal (learned that the hard way coming from California), with or without signage.

Really? Now we’ve got to give people shit about their BELLY BUTTONS?

Amen. Just from a risk perspective on the part of Universities, shut the f*&kers down.

They were reported in the Oregonian and the racist screed was mentioned in the Examiner.com—but no, that information did not get widely reported.
