Isn’t it a good thing if someone who was previously clueless becomes aware, and gives a damn?

This is a rare feeling for me, but does he really deserve this level of vitriol? Like I get it, his tweets were incredibly naive and definitely speak to the cloud of privilege he must have lived in his entire life, but also the fact that he was disturbed by what he saw suggests to me that he has at least a shred of

You don’t like Kristen Dunst? I thought we were buddies, Cherry! (I get it, it’s a matter of taste. I can never be mad at you.)

Woke is when someone has “woke up to” the forces of injustice and inequality. The Social Justice Force has been awakened in them, if you will.

I thought it was a pretty fun show, as always. Laughed out loud several times.

If there is teams I am 100% team Miranda. Will spend the rest of the evening replaying Mama’s Broken Heart.

The quote is from Chris Rock, not Leslie Jones. And “she’d really have something to complain about” suggests she has nothing to complain about now, which is what I am objecting to. “Black women have it harder” is, as you say, absolutely right. “Black women have it harder, so white women should shut the fuck up about

I worked at Sassy from 1989-2001. True story. Of course, I was on the very uncool marketing and advertising team. You may be unsurprised to hear that the editorial staff were total mean girls to us...they thought of us as a necessary evil (exactly what we were!).

I was gonna bring this up: Jane Pratt WAS the editor of Sassy and is still going strong over at xoJane (which I read and love, mostly because the commenters there are hilarious and awesome). She would almost *certainly* still publish articles with the same tone/snark today.

Sassy, in its prime, was THE BEST. And Marjorie Ingall still rocks the house in the sassiest way (Hi, Marjorie!!) Wasn’t as much a fan of JANE, but will always appreciate Pratt for the writers (and writing) of Sassy and the early days of JANE.

I remember the editor was Jane Pratt and she hung out with Michael Stipe and I thought she was the coolest chick ever!

I don’t know where I would have been without Sassy.

Thank you, how is Jezebel getting away with referring to Miranda Lambert as “some lady”? This song makes me cry worse than Adele.

Now playing

They would use my favorite Miranda Lambert song for this.

Breaking news from Ohio: A new law will require that any woman who has an abortion must hold a full age appropriate birthday party for the fetus every year until said fetus is 18 years old. Furthermore, said woman must include fetus in all holiday card photos and will take to Disney world at least twice in said

Falling into vaginas?

Well done, ladies. You’re doing the atheist, liberal, pinko commie, gun-control-believing, pro-choice-having, Obamacare-voting Lord’s work.

He knows damn well what he did.

It is perfectly Dolly. I can be a secular humanist and still love Dolly Parton bless her heart.

This wasn’t the most subtle film the world has ever seen, but some of the lines you pulled out don’t deserve the scorn you heap on them. If the Dalai Lama said “Love is an action” you’d probably think it was profound. There was a lot of Christian thought in the film which is either idiotic or deep, depending on
