referring to poc of color as "dark" has a negative connotation. just say "people of color" next time. also, people of color come in a myriad of colors which makes the term "dark" even more silly.

sistah,I got ya back!
very interesting article. I like learning about things that expand my mind, offer a new way of looking at things. thanks.
I was aware of the negative connotations associated with the word "black". I define myself as a black woman in spite of that.
great points! my uncle verne (lol) has very dark brown skin and very intense blue eyes—-he scared us (my siblings and I) on purpose as kids, lol! now,as an adult with some sense,i sadly realized the reason behind those bizarre eyes of his.
this meme is so wrong!
doesn't mean they don't go home and beat the shit out of their wives and kids. human complexity,y'all. yep,i'm in that kind of mood.
ok,lol!
it's sad how she's chopped and bleached so much of her "ethnic look" (by which i mean Cherokee) away. looking at her now,I wouldn't have believed that she used to look like this:
what's "kmt"?
"not blonde little angels" ?? what is up with you people not using the correct, simple terminology??? it's children/people of color! jeezus.
here's an article about using the term "oriental" to describe Asian people. http://journalism.nyu.edu/publishing/arc…
no. like women of color, children of color are the main ones affected by human trafficking. you can look it up if you have the stomach for it.
cramps popped up after each singer named their period. or,were you joking?
why do you have a problem with women and girls who do want to shout it from the rooftops?
that child has some creepy eyes... nice voice and song though. i'm expecting aunt flo to visit at the end or beginning of the month. there's a strange feeling of "yes,i came on!" but that doesn't last very long.
it gives me the creeps how they're all cooing over children of color just because they have blonde hair? it's not amazing to me at all. *shudders*
"non-white" is a term that makes no sense to me as well. it's as silly as describing oneself as "non-male". anyways, my problem with your comment is your use of the term "dark-skinned people" in reference to people of color and —as you'd have me to believe—white folks are included in that term even though no one's…
ewww. "lezbros" or "studs".
when I say "people of color" I mean people of color not just black people. I've never heard of it being used only in reference to black people either. now, which "dark-skinned people" aren't associated with blonde hair? exactly. people of color. white folks are associated with blonde hair—whether they're "dark-skinned"…
