I once worked with a guy who was from Bozeman, and was an extra in this. From what he said the film crew got the technical aspects right at least, and that made the movie worth watching to me. S'okay overall.

Spaceballs will always have a place in my heart, but I'm clear-eyed enough to admit a lot of it is crap. Same thing with Men In Tights. I tried watching it on HBO Go not long ago and it was interminable.
I was 14 or 15 when it came out. Mainly I spent the movie wondering why Robin Williams was playing a grown-up Peter constantly on the verge of tears instead of, you know, being funny. I mean, I understood the intent, it just seemed like such a misfire.
Well, "funny asshole" was kind of the original AVC commentariat charter. And it's a tricky line to balance between the two. It's just that GI2 frequently lands on the wrong side of that line.
I really can't tolerate the retrospective accolades Hook has been getting in the past few years*. Hook sucks.
